Ashanti Douglas, also known as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York United States on October 13th 1980. She is a musician, singer and actor from the United States. Ashanti was a teenager singer-songwriter and actress American, has been signed to Murder Inc. Records to release her debut album in 2002. Ashanti appeared the same day as The Fat Joe's What's Luv? Also, she was featured on Fat Joe's song"What's Luv!" and the Ja Rules' track Always on Time, both of which have been hugely successful. When she released"What's Luv, at number two in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at number one featuring Foolish as her debut single, she became the only female to achieve this feat. Blige s song Reminisce. Ashanti appeared on screen as a child as a character in the film of Spike Lee, Malcolm X and Malcolm X in 1992. In addition, she played a role in the Ted Demme film Who's the Man? Some of her appearances appeared in music video clip including K.R.S. Act One's MC's"Like They Don't Know" and 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. Ashanti was wooed and signed by several record labels, including Bad Boy. She also appeared in a couple of music videos. Even though she was receiving no major breakthroughs the singer continued her tour throughout New York. Ashanti was originally a backup singer on the track of Big Pun, How We Roll. Ashanti sang on the Fat Joe song"What's Luv?" Ja Rule's Always on Time and Fat Joe's Where is Love. The track was a sample of DeBarge's 1983 single Stay with Me in her debut track Foolish. Her self-titled album first released in 2002 on Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration the fourth studio album, was released on the 3rd of June, 2008. Hey Baby After the Club came out on October 16 for radio and digital outlets. She was a part of the films Christmas in the City as and Army Wives.
